It looks as though I’ll be spreading the Play Ukulele By Ear approach down-under as I take part in Bosko & Honey’s Ukulele Safari 2010.
Bosko & Honey are a homemade ukulele duo and married couple based in the rain forest village of Kuranda, Queensland, Australia. They spent a goodly part of 2008 hop-skipping the globe, playing at festivals, meeting other ukuleleists and posting their travels on YouTube as part of their Ukulele Safari 2008.
Well, they are at it again, planning Ukulele Safari 2010, a four-month journey throughout Australia, playing at festivals, ukulele clubs and meeting other ukulele players. Starting in January, the couple, their cohorts and some stragglers, will pile into some sort of motorized conveyance for the journey.
The schedule isn’t set yet but I should catch them somewhere between Sydney and Melbourne as the caravan motors towards the initial Melbourne Ukulele Festival at the end of February. The vehicle will have a GPS so you can track the safari travels. The journey will also be documented via YouTube video posts and on the Play Ukulele By Ear blog.
Haha! We're really looking forward to meeting you and getting some tips! Thanks for writing about the Safari – we're so glad you're jumping aboard…
I've enjoyed for videos since you began posting, so I too am excited in meeting you both. Safari 2010 is going to be a blast!
I meant to type YOUR videos…
Can't wait! Look forward to meeting you too…
