Ukulele Dunes National Monument

Posted on: July 24th, 2010 by dville

A friend just returned from a visit to Ukulele Dunes National Monument in Uketah with some fabulous photographs. The photo to the left is of the famous Baritone Dune. When ferocious easterly winds howl across the extremely flat surface of this dune one can hear the distinct sound of a G6 chord reverberating throughout the solitary expanse of sand.

Other noteworthy places of interest in the area include Soprano Sands State Park and Lake Maccaferri.
