The Listening Book

Posted on: November 18th, 2009 by dville

You don’t have to have a ukulele in your hands to practice your ear-training. Everyday life is filled with opportunities to improve your listening skills. W.A. Mathieu wrote a wonderful book on this subject entitled appropriately enough, The Listening Book. The book is a series of highly entertaining vignettes from the author’s life and his journey through the magical world of sound. I would suggest purchasing the CD version of the book with the author narration as it is filled with wonderful sounds that will really stimulate your ears. You can listen to some sample tracks at this link. The Listening Book Sample Audio
