Licensed By The Princess!
What a way to start the decade! Princess Cruises has licensed my song That Little Calypso Tune as recorded by Caravan Gogh. The song evolved out of practicing a middle/index finger triplet. Wanting to make the exercise more musical, I played the triplet over an I-IV-V7 progression in the key of F. After a while I added a melody by playing a simple picking pattern using a forward roll. A couple of years later I moved from the Oregon coast to Portland to teach ukulele. That’s where I met the other three musicians which would join together to form Caravan Gogh in December 2005. In the Spring of 2007, we recorded our eponymous CD which included That Little Calypso Tune. You can sample and purchase the CD HERE.
